ERSE weekly average price drops 4.6% for diesel and 5.7% for petrol

The weekly average fuel price, calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE), is down 4.6% for diesel and 5.7% for gasoline this week, according to a report from the entity.

So, according to the information in the weekly report on monitoring sales prices to the public, published Monday evening by ERSE, “for the week of November 21 to 27, the efficient pre-tax price is 0.933 euros / l for regular 95 petrol and 1,126 euros / l for regular diesel. After tax, the efficient price is EUR 1,750/l and EUR 1,758/l for 95-box petrol and regular diesel respectively”.

ERSE also revealed that “the efficient price registered an update, compared to last week, of -5.7% for regular 95 petrol and -4.6% for regular diesel, taking into account the weekly variation in international prices of simple 95 petrol at -11.3% and simple diesel at -7.5%”.

The efficient price “is an average weekly price determined by ERSE and is the result of the sum of the following components: fuel prices on the international reference markets and the respective maritime freight, primary logistics, including in this part the strategic and security reserves of the system National Petroleum, the extra costs associated with the incorporation of biofuels and the retail component plus the associated taxes,” said ERSE.

On the other hand, compared to the previous week (November 7 to 13) “it was verified that the average of the public sale prices announced on the portals and reported on the Balcão Único da Energia was 2.1 cents / l lower than the efficient , this week in the case of simple 95 petrol, and 2.6 cents/l above in the case of simple diesel”.

In other words, the regulator indicated, “in percentage terms, 95 petrol was advertised on the portals 1.1% below the Efficient Price and simple diesel was announced 1.4% above the Efficient Price”.

The entity emphasized that, “relative to the previous week”, with regard to discounted prices average prices published by the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG), “the simple 95 petrol showed a deviation of -3, 6% compared to the Efficient price and simple diesel of -3.0%”.

So “in absolute terms, these estimates for pure 95 petrol stand at -6.8 cents/l and for regular diesel at -5.4 cents/l, below the respective efficient prices”.
