Strike on September 10 and 18: All SNCF unions require mobilization but not on the same dates

The union (pictures) UNSA Ferroviaire is the last to join the protest movement.

While the two days of mobilization against government budget savings projects approach on September 10 by a movement launched on social networks and on September 18 by the interval, the mobilization seems strong in the SNCF, even if the dates diverge.

The Syndicate (Executives) UNSA-Ferroviaire is the last to join the movement and requires mobilizing on September 18, to challenge “an unacceptable austerity budget, adorned with measures aimed at paying employees for a debt for which they are not responsible in any way.”

Sud Rail and the CGT mobilized as of September 10, the other unions prefer 18

Sud Rail was the first to mobilize and ask “block everything” as of September 10. Economies Plan, elimination of holidays, for Sud Rail, “these political elections must be questioned to impose another distribution of wealth now.” But the Union mainly disputes “social bleeding” in the SNCF and a “restructuring wave to reach the economic plan established in 600 million euros by 2026 (double 2025)”, can be read in a brochure. His federal secretary, Fabien Villedieu, told AFP “before September 18, we are 10. This is the date that must be seized!” The union will decide whether to participate in the September 18 strike.

The CGT-CHEMINOT, the first SNCF union, is on the same line and called “participating massively” in the strike on September 10, in a statement published on its Facebook page. As for the date of September 18, the union has not released its position at this time. The CFDT Cheminots told AFP “to be part of the call to the mobilization of September 18” and will decide their terms, without clearly, or not, to the strike.
