As expected, the European Executive gave its approval to the text of the agreement with the countries of South America and now submits it to the twenty -seven states, as well as the MEP.
The European Commission approved the text of the agreement with Mercosur, the first first formal step before presenting this free trade agreement to the states and the MEPs. Brussels intends to complete the agreement with a “legal act” to strengthen protection measures for “sensitive European products”, an addition that Paris welcomed with approval.
The European Executive on Wednesday asked the Member States to approve the commercial agreement with the Latin American Mercosur countries and promised “solid” guarantees to the farmers, to convince France.
