The American Airlines airline has just passed a symbolic and historical course when receiving a thousandth of its main fleet, that is, operated in its name (excluding regional companies).
The Dallas-Fort Worth-based group, which will celebrate its centenary in 2030, has just welcomed a new and high-end 787-9 Dreamliner with the new flagship seat suite of the company. With the arrival of this thousandth device, American Airlines plans to extend its premium offer to more international destinations in the coming months. At the moment, these high-end aircraft provide the Heathrow, Chicago-Los Angeles and Philadelphie-London Heathrow Chicago-Lock connections.
He has received eight 787-9 equipped with its new premium seats since April and plans to have 33 by the end of 2025. At the end of this year, when the company has received all its new airplanes, its fleet has 1,014 airplanes that include 487 Airbus and 527 Boeing. What to consolidate its world’s first place against China China Southern, which has 850 planes in its fleet.
“We are delighted to expand our fleet and add even more devices to offer our customers a high -end travel experience,” Heather Garboden, customer director of American Airlines. “In advance of the next 100 years, we strive to improve and reinvent the experience in the cabin, as well as all aspects of customer trips.”
The company is currently in just under 1,000 aircraft from the merger with US Airways in 2013, which brought its fleet to 970. Before the merger, American had around 614 airplanes in its main fleet.
