To avoid losing 30% productivity, companies sign the first letter for mental health at work

The Mental Health Alliance has launched, in association with the Government, the first letter for mental health at work. Companies are requested to develop prevention and support systems.

It is a “sustainable yield lever and collective well -being.” Companies are requested to take their part E are involved by signing the first “Mental Health Letter at work.”

Run by the Alliance for Mental Health and supported by the Government, this new letter was presented at the end of August in the Ref, the event after the Medef school. In a statement, the government recalls that “60 % of employees do not dare to talk about mental health, and only 23 % have access to a prevention plan.”

1 in 4 employees in bad mental health

It should be said that there is an emergency: in France, 1 out of 4 employees declares in poor mental health, according to the qalisocial barometer X ipsos. A disaster for workers, but also for employers. Even so, according to the barometer, employees in good health are 2.4 times more concentrated, 55% more energetic and 39% more committed than others.

Camy Puech, founding president of the Celisocial Cabinet, estimates that productivity losses are around 30%. But this situation is not irremediable, he believes that the one who participated in the development of the letter.

Remember certain key figures. ” +26% of employees in good mental health in organizations with a complete prevention system (but only 23% of employees are affected) and +64% of mental health employees when they have a good quality of life and working condition (QVCT).”

The four pillars of the letter

But concrete commitments are still required. The mental health letter in a company is based on four pillars:

• Awareness. The objective is to “demystify the issue of mental health” to be able to “speak freely” in particular thanks to the “deployment of awareness and training actions such as mental health.”

• Dialogue. It is “establishing a favorable framework for the development of dialogue on prevention, quality of life, organization and working conditions.” All company players are affected by social dialogue.

• Continuous improvement in working conditions. For this, companies can mobilize QVCT approaches (quality of life and working conditions) “that question the organization of work in a logic of social and economic performance.” The letter also promises “special attention to the conditions of activity of specific audiences (women, family caregivers, workers with disabilities, first entries, elderly, young people …)”.

• Support for individual situations. This time it is “to act on the individual determinants of mental health: fight against the sedentary lifestyle and the promotion of physical activity, sleep, prevention of violence and discrimination …”. The signatories of the letter also promise to provide internal or external resources to help workers in a situation of mental suffering.

Psychological disorders responsible for increasing long judgments

Finally, to achieve these objectives, the Ministry of Labor promises “the development of practical tools and training offered by the National Agency for the Improvement of Working Conditions (ANACT) and the National Institute for Research and Security (INrs) and the deployment of regional experiments to strengthen the action of prevention and health services at work.”

You should know that psychological disorders now represent the first cause of long -term disease judgments. At a time when the Government is concerned with the increase in spending linked to illness license (and is considering increasing the number of days of deficiency), observing mental health problems in business seems to be a long -term solution.
