The manufacturer of armored vehicles Franco-German, KNDS, is expected to decide in the coming months if he will do an OPI next year, his manager Jean-Paul Azry announced on Monday. During an organized press conference in Amsterdam, where the group headquarters is located, Jean-Paul Azry said that “there is no decision at this stage”, but that the Board of Directors had asked the management team to be “prepared” for a possible exit to Board (OPI).
Jean-Paul Azry, general director of Knds in office since April, confirmed the existence of discussions with the German government in relation to the possible acquisition of a locking minority by Germany, and in other points that he has not revealed.
A MOVEMENT PARTICIPATION
Knds was trained in 2015, one of the emblematic projects of Franco-German military collaboration, gathering the German group Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and the French Nexter. The German family shareholder of KMW and the French State are shareholders in equal parts. In February, Reuters reported that Knds was considering an opi at the end of the year. In mid-July, the German press had revealed that the German Bode-Wegmann family, owner of Half Knds, was planning to reduce their participation.
When asked about the identity of possible investors in KND, Jean-Paul Azry said Rheinmetall did not have the “strategic alignments necessary for KNDS”, and said such and Airbus were not options “that”. In March, the leader of Rheinmetall Armin Papperger had affirmed his intention to invest in Knds if the company entered the stock market and an opportunity arose. This announcement occurs when the CEO of Knds France, Nicolas Chamussy, is informed about the game, according to the information revealed by the challenges.
