The French business sector continued to grow in the first half, but at a lower rate than at the same time last year, and its level of fundraising continues its decrease, says a barometer of the Digital Association of France on Tuesday.
“There is a real slowdown in the rate,” summarizes Maya Noël, general director of France Digital, which represents young “technology” and specialized investment funds.
The number of new companies reaches 16,200, an increase of 1,200 companies for a year, a slower increase than the previous year.
After a record level reached in 2022, the collection of funds in the sector continued to fall, also indicates that this barometer was carried out with the Consulting Firm EY.
In the first half, they amounted to 2.8 billion euros, a 35% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
The sector is particularly marked by an 87% drop in “Mega-Tours” investment, more than 100 million euros.

Following the fall of the government of François Bayrou, the results of the barometer, of the responses of 500 young outbreaks and 100 specialized investment funds and support structures, highlight the impact of economic and political uncertainty in the next 12 months.
75% of the young shots interviewed consider the political situation with risks, a rate equivalent to 82% with respect to the national economic context.
Given the perspective of budgetary savings measures, France declares itself digital for the protection of this ecosystem.
In 2023 and 2024, new companies saw increase their turnover by 16%, to 11.5 billion euros, less fast than in previous years.
This growth is carried by the amplification of sales to the European market, improved by 57%. At the same time, international exports, with a lower volume, increased by 16%, and sales in France increased by 2%.
“In a year, new companies have created more jobs that have eliminated,” the barometer said after fears of employment in the sector.
The works in the new companies went from 450,000 to 500,000 jobs, an increase of 11.1% for a year.
