Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that kyiv intended to sell certain types of armaments abroad, such as naval drones to finance military production in Ukraine.
Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russia for three years, depends a lot on the financing and deliveries of Western weapons for many types of armaments. But he also developed his own national military production, especially drones.
He cited naval drones, anti -tank weapons and “certain other types of weapons” that enter this category. According to him, “controlled exports” will finance the production of other weapons on Ukrainian soil.
Towards the United States, European countries and “other partners”?
He mentioned several destinations for these exports, including the United States, European countries and “other partners around the world who are also interested in Ukrainian weapons and from which Ukraine has received several forms of support.”
Volodymyr Zelensky had already offered several times to sell drones in the United States several times, but these proposals have not materialized.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has repeatedly criticized the military aid provided by his country to Ukraine. He insisted that American weapons are bought now for kyiv and that several European countries have pledged to pay the bill for Ukraine.
According to figures from the German Institute Kiel, Ukraine received more than 167 billion euros in the aid of European countries and more than 114 billion euros from the United States since 2022.
