Lidl had sold vodka to a minor who committed suicide in a scooter: the brand definitely sentenced to a fine of 5,000 euros

By condemning Lidl to a fine, Justice recognizes and confirms the link between alcohol and traffic accident. A minor who had bought vodka on the Basque coast in one of the discount brands had committed suicide in a Scooter accident a few hours later.

The Cassation Court condemned the German origin discount on Tuesday on Tuesday at a fine of 5,000 euros for selling alcohol to a minor, who died in 2021 in the Pyrenees of the Atlantic after a Scooter accident.

Before appealing to the appeal, Lidl had been sentenced in appeal in July 2024 for having sold Vodka to Kilian, 16 years old. This teenager had committed suicide in 2021 in Urrugne (Pyrénées Atlantiques) hitting a Pylon Scooter after being hit by a circulating friend, also an alcoholic, in his scooter.
