Boeing is about to obtain the European Union Agreement (EU) for its acquisition of Spirit Aerosystems, for an amount of $ 4.7 billion (4.03 billion euros), people told the archive.
Corrective measures to respond to EU concerns must include the sale of certain activities of Spirit Aerosystems, they added.
Boeing had announced the operation in July last year, with the aim of rationalizing its operations and improving quality control, years after having separated from the main airline supplier.
European deficit activities assigned to Airbus
The corrective measures taken by Boeing to respond to the concerns of the EU competition should be the ones that companies have announced at the time of the acquisition agreement, the interviewees said.
This is the sale of European deficit activities from Spirit to Airbus and the sale of its activities in Prestwick, Scotland and Subang, Malaysia, which support Airbus programs, as well as those of Belfast.
The European Commission is expected to guarantee the application of the rules of competition in the EU, make a decision before October 14. Boeing and Spirit Aerosystems refused to comment.
The British competence authorized the operation without conditions in August. Boeing has long planned to buy its old subsidiary, which, according to analysts, has fought to prosper independently despite the diversification of its activities for Airbus and other European companies.
