Cali Intelligences was born from a meeting between four entrepreneurs passionate about artificial intelligence. At the origin of the project, we designed a set of computer vision tools that could detect many elements in video images. In fact, working with innovative and high-performance technologies that deal with personal data on sensitive topics, we immediately wanted to establish very clear rules through a strict moral charter. Therefore, ethics, respect for users and GDPR regulations are at the heart of our development. To give you a concrete example, we already have desensitization tools that are operational for data and our AIs. Our R&D budget allocated to this topic is aligned with our values and ambitions.

Today we work with many security agents in the field of mass distribution, warehouses, but also with parking managers. Apart from private companies, our ultimate goal is to offer this technology to law enforcement in the practice of their profession, and other public institutions, particularly around the development of safer Smart Cities.
Specifically, how does this technology work?
To perform behavior detection through cameras, our smart software can track every person and every car without facial recognition and without identification. It then analyzes this raw data in what is called a feature extractor, made up of, among other things, a technology called “3D CNN”, which will be able to extract a lot of information about each scene, to understand and predict the behavior of the people filmed. .
If necessary, the tool will send various alerts to security agents or police through our SaaS. The latter will then be able to quickly decide what action to take on the ground, indicating whether the alert was justified or not, so that artificial intelligence can continuously learn and adapt to the specific needs of each business and each customer.

Whether in private or in public, the security aspect is becoming increasingly important, particularly with a significant increase in the number of video surveillance systems. Security officers are also under considerable pressure to ensure this high level of security.

What are your goals now for the coming months and years?
After spending over a year and a half developing our smart solution with an ambassador, who is a major player in the world of distribution, as well as various security partners (integrators, private security companies, etc.), we are currently launching the commercialization of our product for large surfaces (hypermarkets) and private parking lots. At the same time, we are also working on the development of this product for use in the heart of Smart Cities.
We are currently completing a €1.2 million fundraiser which should enable us to develop in France, before expanding internationally in 2 years’ time.
