GRDF management and the CGT failed to reach an agreement on wages on Wednesday aimed at ending a five-week strike that is disrupting gas connection activities and causing wild outages.

The CGT demands a wage increase of 2.3% in addition to the increases already provided for in a majority wage agreement signed by three other unions (FO, CFDT and CFE-CGC).

Interventions with users that cannot be performed

The leadership has not made any proposal in this regard, Sébastien Raya, a CGT delegate, told Reuters. “As we have many agents on strike, there are a series of interventions with users that cannot be carried out,” Éric Gautier, the CGT union coordinator in GRDF, explained to AFP at the end of November.
