The National Assembly has arranged 2.3 million euros in additional credits for 2022 in order to deal in particular with the “effects of inflation on energy spending” of the institution and the automatic increases in the remuneration of civil servants, as we learned on Wednesday from a parliamentary source.

The draft budget of the Assembly amounted to 608.7 million euros. His office, the highest collegiate body, acted this Wednesday on this increase of 2.3 million “in order to take into account the revaluation measures of the index, the uncertainties linked to the rate of progress of various real estate investments and the effects of inflation on energy expenditure”. ”, according to the minutes of the meeting.
There were long exchanges about the temperature in certain offices or premises of the Assembly, initially at 19°C but sometimes less in case of faulty heating, a participant reported. The deputies have also been happy to wear the handkerchief in the chamber for a few days.
President Yaël Braun-Pivet inaugurated a working group on “sustainable development” within the institution at the beginning of August, tasked with working on “energy sobriety” measures and for a few months on an “ecological transition plan”.
