Renault wants to keep Jean-Dominique Senard as president

Renault’s board of directors will propose at a general meeting to renew the mandate of Jean-Dominique Senard and appoint the group’s CEO, Luca de Meo, as director.

Renault’s board of directors will propose in a general meeting the renewal of the mandate of president of Jean-Dominique Senard, the group announced Thursday.

The former Michelin boss was chosen in January 2019 to replace Carlos Ghosn, then detained in Japan. Since then, he has overseen Renault’s shift towards electric and high-end, and the evolution of relations with its partner Nissan. The mandate of Jean-Dominique Senard, 69, could be renewed for four years at the general meeting of May 11, 2023.

Luca de Meo appointed administrator

The Board of Directors will also propose to appoint the architect of this strategic change, the general director of the group, Luca de Meo, as director. Annette Winkler, chair of the strategy and sustainable development committee, should also renew her term of office.

BlaBlaCar co-founder Frédéric Mazzella, appointed to the board in 2021, will end his term as director at the end of the general meeting, “given the evolution of his various professional commitments, and in particular the recent launch of his new business venture Capitán Causa”, a platform for donations to associations, said Renault.
