The switchmen’s strike that began on Thursday at the SNCF and will end on Monday, December 19 will have little consequence this weekend. As on Saturday, train traffic will be “slightly disrupted” on Sunday, the company announced in a press release.
Nationwide, around thirty TGVs out of a total of 650 in circulation will be abolished. The impact will mainly affect the TGV Atlantique (more than 8 trains out of 10 insured, including two out of three on the Paris-South West links). In the rest of the high-speed lines, a “normal or almost normal service” will be provided.
Intercités traffic “almost normal”
On the Intercités side, traffic will be “almost normal”. Finally, for the Transilien and the TER, certain lines and certain regions will be “susceptible to interruption”, indicates the SNCF, adding that the transport plans will be detailed on Saturday before 5:00 p.m.
In general, SNCF Voyageurs advises its customers to “check the train schedules before going to the station and, if possible, cancel your trips”.
