If they beat Argentina this Sunday, December 18, in the World Cup final, the French team would pocket about 42 million euros. This is 10 million more than in 2018, when the previous title was won in Russia.
Since the 2014 World Cup, the French Football Federation has paid 30% of this sum to players and staff, or 400,000 euros per player, 50,000 more than in Russia.
A French team at 985 million euros
But that’s not what makes their fortune: The Blues traditionally donate the vast majority of their winnings to charity. This year, they announced their intention to provide financial support to NGOs that campaign for respect for human rights.
It is the market value of the players that can change especially after a World Cup, a competition that allows them to highlight their qualities and, therefore, see their rating on the transfer market progress.
Before the start of this 22nd edition in Qatar, England dominated the world ranking of accumulated values of players by teams, with 1,130 million euros, ahead of Brazil, 1,030 million, and France, with 985 million euros. Let’s see if the final result of the competition also upsets this ranking.
