Travelers who have failed to make their claim for compensation on SNCF’s online form have an additional five months to do so. The railway company has announced this Friday that customers whose train has been canceled due to the strike will be able to make their request “until May 30, 2023”. “The bonuses obtained will be valid for one year from the date of issue,” it says on Twitter.
The SNCF has established an exceptional compensation of 200% for those who cancel the TGV Inoui, Ouigo or Intercité train scheduled between December 23 and 26, in addition to the refund of their ticket.
Access to the form is restored.
To obtain it, the SNCF put a form online on Thursday afternoon. Travelers initially had to complete it before their train’s departure time.
but many customers have expressed their difficulty in accessing it. “Impossible to connect to the platform to obtain compensation. (…) This must be done before the time my train was to leave, that is, in 20 minutes! Failure since yesterday!” protested a traveler on Twitter on Friday. With the time granted by the SNCF, the latter will see compensation obtained from him.
The railway company announced on Friday that access to the compensation claim form had been “restored”. The SNCF had indicated in a tweet on Thursday that “access to the form” was “very slow due to the large number of simultaneous connections”, inviting travelers to “connect later”.
