Totalenergies announced on Friday an update to its very small business (TPE) price list to “take into account the recent drop in electricity prices” and proposed to apply these new prices to recently signed contracts.
It also called for dialogue with public administrations to ensure the viability of its own activity as a supplier of gas and electricity.
Faced with the multiple alerts launched by artisans, in particular bakers, due to the explosion in their electricity bills, Emmanuel Macron called on Thursday for a renegotiation of “excessive” contracts concluded between energy providers and very small companies, by evoking a price of reference of 280 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh).
A meeting between the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire and his counterpart for the Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher with energy suppliers is scheduled for this Friday afternoon.
An average price of 320 euros per MWh
Totalenergies announced in a press release on Friday that it would review its prices as of Monday, to bring them to an average price of 320 euros per MWh, “given the drop in electricity prices observed at the beginning of 2023.”
He added that he was going to propose to the VSEs that have signed a contract between August 1 and November 30 to apply this new rate with retroactive effect to the date of signing.
“Aware of the great impact of electricity prices on the economic activity of VSEs and in the name of national solidarity, Totalnergies Electricity and Gaz France want to
mobilize to help them deal with the difficulties caused by this unprecedented energy crisis,” the French group said in a press release.
“To implement these proposals, Totalenergies Electricité and Gaz France are determined to enter into a constructive dialogue with the public authorities to define the mechanisms that will allow responding to both the demands of VSEs and those of electricity providers, whether integrated or not. , to develop their activity of production and distribution of electrical energy under economically viable conditions”, he also underlines.
