Pedro Almeida Fernandes replaced Nuno Ribeiro da Silva on the board of directors of Endesa Generacion Portugal, as he revealed today in a publication on Linkedin.
“It is with a mixture of responsibility and gratitude that I succeed Nuno Ribeiro da Silva on the Board of Directors of Endesa Generacion Portugal SA, with whom I have had the privilege of working and learning over the past 17 years,” said the manager, who leads the Enel Green Power and Thermal Generation Portugal. The Enel group is the largest shareholder of Endesa.
Over the years, the administrator has held various additional positions at Endesa.
“When we started our way with Endesa in late 2005, the company was exclusively a producer of coal-fired electricity in Portugal, a reality I have proudly helped change over the past two decades, for a company that became the page about coal in 2021, and which is now dedicated to electricity production from natural gas and renewable sources, supporting the country’s transition to a carbon-neutral economy, with reinforced energy independence,” said Pedro Almeida Fernandes.
“To my colleagues and to all our partners I would like to say a word of thanks and confidence, we live in a demanding time, the biggest energy crisis of the century, but I am sure that we are part of the solution, and that the innovative proposals that we must implement, always ensuring a just transition, hand in hand with the regions in which we operate, will soon play a central role in the Portuguese economy,” he concluded in the same publication.
On his Linkedin, Pedro Almeida Fernandes says that between September 2016 and August 2021, he also belonged to the administration of Tejo Energia, at the Pego power plant.
