Bruno Le Maire asks to “rework” the bill that outrages large retailers

When asked about the Descrozaille bill, Bruno Le Maire said that the text needed to be “reworked” more to find a “balance”.

“Inflationary madness” or necessary text to protect companies? The Descrozaille bill has not stopped shaking the agri-food sector since the beginning of the year, dividing large retailers, confronting this text, and large industrialists.

The Government does not hide its reluctance, although the text is carried by a Renaissance deputy and is supported by deputies from the presidential majority. Invited this Monday morning on BFMTV-RMC, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire confirmed that the executive did not support the bill as it is. “The intention is good” but “the balance has not yet been found,” declared Bruno Le Maire.

The signs of the battle of the large distribution against the bill, which will be discussed this week in plenary session of the National Assembly. In this period of high inflation, and also of debates around the pension reform, the executive fears the consequences of the text on the receipt.
