Strike of January 19: the CGT justifies the drop in electricity production

EDF strikers have caused cuts in electricity production in protest against the pension reform. A legitimate action for the CGT.

According to the CGT and the manager of the high and very high voltage lines RTE, the EDF agents are organizing reductions in electricity production to challenge the Government’s plan on pensions.

Decreases that intensified strongly on Thursday, reaching at least the equivalent of twice the consumption of Paris, always according to RTE.

On the BFMTV set this Thursday, Céline Verzeletti, CGT confederal secretary, comments on these actions.

And attack RTE, the manager of the electrical network, which demands the cessation of the actions that lead to this drop in production. “In terms of union repression, they are very strong, I would not trust their words, continues Céline Verzeletti. Employees who exercise their right to strike, that necessarily has an impact on the economy.”
