Maif wants to attract young people. The militant insurer claims to be “at the forefront of the big issues of the 21st century” such as ecology and global warming, her managing director Pascal Demurger stressed Tuesday morning on the air of BFM Business.
“We have the characteristic of having extremely loyal members” but “who says loyal members means a gradual aging of the portfolio”, explains Pascal Demurger to explain this “desire for rejuvenation”.
One of Maif’s arguments to attract young people is the “commitment to the brand”, according to its general director. “We are the only insurer in France that has withdrawn from the fossil industries,” boasted Pascal Demurger.
“Maif has the characteristic of being very advanced in climatic and ecological issues and has the responsibility of also being at the forefront in the choice of its investments,” added the general director of Maif.
An “ecological dividend” of 10% of your result
Pascal Demurger said he was “skeptical” about the choice of certain investors “to continue financing new wells, new deposits on somewhat dubious terms.”
The general director of Maif also assumed the reductions granted for electric vehicles, despite “a slightly higher accident rate” compared to thermal vehicles. “We take our share,” he said, praising a “bias.”
On January 5, Maif also announced the creation of an “ecological dividend” equivalent to 10% of its annual result, in order to finance ecological and solidarity actions. This dividend will make it possible, in particular, to support the most vulnerable members and finance biodiversity conservation and regeneration projects.
“The shared value is clearly between our members, the employees and now the planet,” Pascal Demurger declared Tuesday morning.
