Retirements: a deputy asks to “set an example” by suppressing the special regime for parliamentarians

Charles de Courson, centrist deputy for the Marne, believes that one cannot “ask for efforts” from the French “without applying them to oneself.”

Should the pension plan for parliamentarians be abolished? While the Government intends to put an end to the special regimes enjoyed by EDF, RATP or Banque de France employees, a deputy asked to “set an example” by also eliminating that of parliamentarians.

“We have an article 1 in the text that has been presented to us, which extinguishes five special regimes”, such as the EDF, the RATP or the Banque de France. “This Is Inconsistent: Why These Five Special Diets [mais pas] the others, including that of the parliamentarians?” asked the centrist parliamentarian Charles de Courson (Liberty, Independents, Overseas and Territories group) about bfm tv.

“Still far away”

“The regime of deputies has been reformed twice to bring it closer” to the general regime and it is “not very far”, but that of senators is “still very far” from the general regime, Charles de Courson has pointed out.
