An egg strike falling in full candlelight. For more than 3 days no eggs have come out of a hundred farms in Brittany.
These breeders have decided to suspend all deliveries because with inflation, the increase in the price of electricity and charges, they can no longer make ends meet.
A move that could harden
The heart of their complaints? The price of eggs that remains stable for them while it has increased in supermarkets. An operator explains to BFMTV that the contracted egg costs around 9 cents to end up with consumers around 20 cents.
Therefore, breeders ask for a 10% revaluation, or 1 cent per egg sold. If they are not listened to, they threaten to harden the movement.
