The number of company creations in France continued to grow in August, but at a slower pace than in July, INSEE said on Friday. In August, 90,522 companies were created, which represents an increase of 1.9%, driven once again by the additions of micro-companies (+3.7%) while those of traditional companies fell (-0.9%).
In June and July, the number of company creations had already rebounded after two consecutive months of decline. While the increase continues in the sectors of business support (+4.0%), transport and storage (+8.5%), home services (+3.8%) and industry (+5.7 %), the number of companies created decreased, however, in real estate activities (-7.4%) and in education, health and social action (-2.0%).
Business creation falls in 12 months
“The accumulated number of companies created during the last three months has increased slightly compared to the same months of the previous year,” clarifies the INSEE. In twelve months, the total number of companies created fell again (-1.7%), but at a slower pace than the previous month (-2.6%).
“The creation of traditional individual companies fell with greater intensity (-11.6%) than those covered by the microentrepreneur regime (-2.4%). The decrease was especially pronounced in the transport and storage sector (-35.8% year-on-year). year),” details the institute.
