Pensions: Philippe Martinez promises “other initiatives” between February 16 and March 7

The CGT leader called to “maintain the pressure on the Government but also on the deputies.”

“You have to maintain this pressure of public opinion on the government but also on the deputies.” Invited this Monday on RMC and BFMTV, Philippe Martínez called on the French to mobilize during the next days of protest against the pension reform, on February 16 and March 7, and even between these two dates:

“We want the mobilization to continue expressing itself, even during school vacations, we have to keep up the pace and for employees, retirees, and young people to continue expressing themselves. There will be other initiatives, I don’t know in what way, between the 16th and the 7th,” said the general secretary of the CGT.

“Stop France” on March 7

The inter-union confirmed in a press release on Saturday its call for a fifth act against the pension reform on February 16, asking the Executive to “withdraw its bill” and the parliamentarians to “massively reject this text.”

He also called for “toughening up the movement” and “paralyzing France” from Tuesday March 7, if the government does not withdraw its “unfair and brutal” bill by then.

In addition to March 7, “la intersindical” will take advantage of March 8, the international day of struggle for women’s rights, to highlight the great social injustice of this reform against women.
