Air Moldova, the national airline of Modavia, has announced that the country has temporarily closed its airspace.
According to various local media, a drone was found in Moldovan airspace. On Flightradar, no devices currently fly over the country that shares part of its border with Ukraine.
The media cite “security reasons” without further details in a context of tensions between the former Soviet republic and Moscow.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu on Monday detailed Moscow’s alleged plans to overthrow the pro-European power based in Chisinau and announced a tightening of security measures.
