From 1 October, households on the regulated electricity market will pay 3.3% extra on their bill. According to the statement of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) this Thursday, a couple without children, with a contracted capacity of 3.45 kVA and an annual consumption of 1900 kWh, will pay 38.22 euros next month. euros more than in September. A couple with two children, with a capacity of 6.9 kVA and a consumption of 5000 kWh per year, has to pay 94.97 euros plus 2.86 euros.
The deterioration in electricity prices in the regulated market will negatively affect about 60 thousand domestic low-voltage customers in the regulated market, which is about 6.5% of the total of 927 thousand registered customers in July 2022, according to ERSE’s note.
This slight price increase of 3.3% comes after regulated market rates dropped 2.6% in April.
The increase that can be felt from 1 October is the result of the increase in “the price of the energy tariff on the regulated electricity market by another 5 euros per MWh”. This update comes at a time when energy markets are particularly affected by the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
As for the annual variation of the electricity bill, in the regulated and low voltage market, the rate has already increased by 1.8% between 2021 and 2022.
On October 15, ERSE will present its proposal to update electricity prices as of January 1 next year, which must be approved by the Tariff Council in December. The value to be determined will serve as a reference for the price increase for operators on the free electricity market.
