Pensions: the Government wants to “improve” the reform for women

The Labor Minister, Olivier Dussopt, said he was “in agreement” and “open” to the proposals of the Republicans to improve the situation of women in the pension reform project.

The government is “open” to the proposals of the Republicans (LR) on amendments to the pension reform, in particular on the situation of women, Labor Minister Olivier Dussopt said on Sunday, two days before the examination of the Text in the Senate. controlled by the right.

The head of the Les Républicains group in the upper house, Bruno Retailleau, proposed in particular on Saturday in the parisian either a “5% surcharge for mothers who have reached full career and the age of majority, or an early departure at age 63.”

“We agree and we are open,” Olivier Dussopt responded on Sunday on BFMTV, explaining that “having different starting ages between women and men is not very fair.”

“We can find solutions”

“In the text, the project that we have to improve and continue refers to the situation of women who, having had children, reach retirement age (…) with rooms validated for maternity” who will suffer an “effect of neutralization” and will be “lost” due to the increase in the retirement age from 62 to 64, Olivier Dussopt agreed.

“We can find solutions,” he continued, while the reform must be examined from Tuesday by the senators, ten days after heated debates in the Assembly.

The Government, he argued, considers, for example, “telling yourself that after a certain age, if you have not reached the age of law (…) but your degree is complete, the quarters that you continue doing give give rise to a premium”, without specifying the rate.

For their part, the unions committed against the reform have called to “stop” the country on March 7.
