Pension reform: Unsa Ferroviaire wants to “block Paris for at least two weekends” in March

Like the rest of the SNCF unions, Unsa Ferroviaire calls for a strike against the pension reform as of March 7 and intends to push the government back.

One week before March 7, the unions are flexing their muscles. All the organizations present in the SNCF launched a strike call on Monday, renewable from next Tuesday against the pension reform.

“The goal is clear,” insists Rémi Aufrere-Privel, national representative of the Unsa Ferroviaire union, on the BFMTV set. “We feel that the government is still ‘in its boots’ as Alain Juppé said in 1995,” and what set Alain Juppé back may set the government back today.

Blocking Paris, an “important” symbolism

“The union unity is perfect. There is no difference, only convergences”, celebrates Rémi Aufrère-Privel. “This is what seems necessary, when we look at the social history of our country, whether in 1986 or 1995, only fairly long movements have allowed us to roll back this type of counter-reform.”

Rémi Aufrère-Privel considers the symbolism behind the blockade of Paris announced by Unsa Ferroviaire “important”.

All unions mobilized

Asked about the renewable energy strike at SNCF during her visit to the Salon de l’Agriculture, Elisabeth Borne called for “responsibility” on the unions.

“We can oppose it, we can go on strike, especially on the 7th. So I also think that everyone must take into account the need for French men and women to travel, so it is a call for responsibility,” insisted the prime minister. .

On Wednesday, all the SNCF unions had met to consider the possibility of a unitary renewable movement, recalls AFP. The CGT and the SUD campaigned for it, but the Unsa and the CFDT had made it known that they wanted to consult their members first.

On Friday, the Unsa called to “renew the movement after March 7” in a press release. As for the CFDT, it revealed the results of a consultation launched over the weekend with its members. “More than 80% are in favor of a renewable strike,” he revealed on Monday.

On Thursday, the CGT-Cheminots will have to meet with the other professional federations of the CGT active in the movement (chemistry, energy, ports and docks) to prepare for the “France at a standstill” day on March 7 and the following days.
