Former BHV Paris store manager Amandine de Souza will become CEO of the Leboncoin platform on April 1, its owner, Norwegian online ad specialist Adevinta, announced Tuesday.

The ESCP Europe graduate, who worked for Bain & Company, casino distributor and e-furniture retailer Westwing, succeeds Marc Brandsma, who had managed Leboncoin on an interim basis since Antoine Jouteau’s appointment as CEO of ‘Adevinta in August 2022, says a press release.

She was previously a member of the executive committee of Galeries Lafayette, as director of BHV Marais, the Parisian store Eataly and the home, DIY and leisure buying group, a position she has just left, while the BHV is in the process of selling to Société des Grands Magasins (SGM), a Lyon real estate company.

A company “at the forefront of the circular economy”

Leboncoin’s new CEO says she is “completely in tune with the values” of a company “at the forefront of the circular economy,” which “helps consumers make more sustainable choices” by allowing them to buy and sell second-hand items. hand.

Leboncoin, which includes 9 brands including A Vendre A Louer, Videdressing, Paycar, Locasun and L’Argus, belongs to Norwegian online classifieds specialist Adevinta, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The latter operates platforms in 11 countries and has more than 25 brands: in addition to Leboncoin in France, mobile.de and eBay Kleinanzeigen in Germany, Marktplaats in the Netherlands, fotocasa and InfoJobs in Spain. In 2022 Adevinta lost 1,750 million euros, due to the amortization of 1,700 million euros passed in the 4th quarter, related to the assets acquired from eBay in 2021.
