Just five days before March 7, which promises to be a day of mass mobilizations and strikes against the pension reform, Philippe Martinez has found most of the other leaders of the inter-union to continue making his firm opposition to the project heard.
The inter-union met this Thursday, March 2 at the end of the afternoon in La Ricamarie (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), near Saint-Etienne, to consult on the future actions that they will carry out, in particular for the mobilization of March 7 whose leitmotif is “stop France”.
Although Philippe Martínez recalled that the inter-union unity originated from the fact that they all had a common objective: the refusal to raise the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years, he also stated that they differ on other points.
Differences that may have been felt during the intervention of Marylise Léon, number two of the CFDT, who wanted to clarify more than her colleague from the CGT about the upcoming mobilization: “I don’t really like the question of the hardening of the movement”, said.
“From the Senate, we expect nothing”
The Secretary General of Force Ouvrière, Frédéric Souillot, also took the floor to express the mistrust he has in the Senate, which today began its examination of the pension reform text.
“Nothing is expected from the Senate,” he told reporters at the post-meeting news conference.
The March 7 movement promises to be far-reaching with various sectors calling for often renewable strikes. Among them are transport, education, energy or garbage collectors.
