Although the annual agreements between large retailers and manufacturers have just ended, a further increase in food products seems inevitable, in a context of generalized inflation.
But these increases should not happen overnight. Invited to the set of BFMTV this Thursday, Richard Panquiault, director of Ilec, which represents 90 of the main manufacturers of mass distribution products, assured that there will be “a change in time.”
10% increase
However, he confirmed that the new contracts signed between distributors and manufacturers tended to increase prices, “given the extraordinary rise in all costs.”
“Indeed, prices will gradually increase in the coming months,” he acknowledged.
Before continuing: “Today we heard that as a result of the negotiation there would be an increase in the purchase price of distribution to manufacturers of around 10%.” A figure that had been announced hours before by Jacque Creyssel, general director of the Federation of Commerce and Distribution.
