The 2023 energy check will not be paid on time. Due to an “exceptional workload”, the distribution of these aids for the payment of the energy bill will be postponed “a few weeks”, the Ministry of Energy Transition informed our colleagues Capital.
Usually paid by the end of March, the energy check should not be sent before May of this year. With a price of between 48 and 277 euros per year, this system affects 5.8 million homes.
However, 12 million households have already been able to benefit from an exceptional energy check of 100 or 200 euros distributed between December 2022 and mid-February 2023 to respond to the rise in electricity prices. Other households were also able to receive a “fuel oil check” for 200 euros or a “wooden check” for 50 to 200 euros.
