The bills for the Mais Habitação program, which arrived at the Assembly of the Republic last Friday, will remain in public consultation for an extended period of time. The deadline expired next Monday, March 13, but now the Ministry of Housing has announced that the deadline will be extended to March 24.
“At the request of the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP), the government has decided to extend the period of public consultation of the Mais Habitação program for the part related to the legislative proposals,” the municipality’s office clarified in a statement. . “This part of the legislation (PL 64/XXIII/2023; PL 73/XXIII/2023; PL 74/XXIII/2023) will therefore be in public consultation until March 24, after which it will be adopted at the Council of Ministers on March 30, then it goes to the Assembly of the Republic,” the ministry reports.
The diplomas “regarding support for housing credit and renting (DL 75/XXIII/2023; DL 111/XXIII/2023), will end the public consultation on March 13, as already planned, and will be approved by the Council of Ministers of 16 March”. In this way, the government believes, it is ensured that aid to families “gets to the ground quickly”.
