At the head of the Parisian procession against the pension reform, Laurent Berger had very harsh words against Emmanuel Macron this Saturday, the day after the refusal of the head of state to receive the inter-union union at the Élysée.
“We are not in democratic denial. There is government legitimacy, there is parliamentary legitimacy, but there is also a form of legitimacy in social democracy”, insisted the leader of the reformist union.
49.3, a “kind of democratic vice”
Laurent Berger thus warned the government against using article 49.3 to push pension reform in the National Assembly:
Recognizing a lower mobilization for this seventh day, Laurent Berger said he was not surprised, being this day the second of the week, but the determination is “strong”.
