Can you introduce us to LunaJets?
LunaJets is one of the European leaders in private jet charters, founded 15 years ago. The company started out by reselling empty leg flights on private jets, but quickly evolved to become the European leader in on-demand flights. LunaJets now has more than 80 employees, 8 offices and a turnover of almost 150 million euros. LunaJets clientele is very diverse, from companies or sports organizations to individuals and governments.
Our activity goes beyond business aviation. LunaJets can respond to emergencies, with services by private jet, group charter plane or cargo plane. We regularly participate in emergency missions, such as in Turkey and Syria a month ago.
What sets you apart from your competitors in this market?
Our technology, our marketing and our service, but above all our price, between 10 and 50% cheaper than our competitors in comparable aircraft, thanks to our purchase volume. LunaJets is also noted for its flexibility, allowing customers to charter an aircraft even at the last minute, for a specific mission, with no other commitment, which is highly appreciated by CFOs and contractors.
What does the activity of your charter group represent?
LunaGroup Charter, in full growth, offers group charter services for specific or regular events, such as parties, weddings, birthdays, fairs, religious or cultural celebrations, etc., with short, medium and large-span aircraft.
What are their responses to environmental problems?
LunaJets offers SAF, a more sustainable fuel, as soon as possible, and allows its customers to offset up to 300% of CO2 emissions thanks to a partnership with South Pole. We always bet on the use of recent aircraft, less than 15 years old, which are less polluting than older models. And then our offer helps to rationalize the use of private jets around the world and therefore its impact. Many groups or individuals choose to sell their private jets in order to use our services.
Has your sector recovered from the health crisis and what is the situation today?
The health crisis has had a significant impact on the aviation industry, but LunaJets has adapted, including by importing medical equipment from China. After strong growth in 2020, we have continued on this path. 2022 saw growth of 40%, despite the market slowdown since September due to the context of uncertainty and inflation. However, we maintain slightly positive growth thanks to the diversity of our services.
What is the future outlook for LunaJets?
The headquarters is in Geneva, but our future is Europe, with France being the biggest market, the Arabian peninsula and Asia. Step by step we are building our brand: after Paris, London, Riga and Monaco, we opened an office in Dubai in January, and now Zurich and Madrid, because although we are essentially a web platform, the nature of our services forces us to be as as close as possible to our customers to support them at all times.
