Support for strike and blockade increases after 49.3 on pension reform

BFMTV POLL – 58% of French people support the strike and blockade of certain sectors (oil refining, transport, waste collection) to oppose the pension reform, according to a new Elabe poll published on Monday.

Did 49.3 add fuel to the fire? Since this constitutional weapon was used to approve the pension reform in the National Assembly, more and more French people support the strike and the blockade of key sectors (oil refineries, transport, waste collection) according to a poll by Elabe for BFMTV .

They are now 58% to “support” the blockade and strike to oppose the bill, an increase of four points compared to March 10.

76% of workers and 76% of employees say they support strikes and blockades. Like 88% of voters for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and 68% of voters for Marine Le Pen in the first round of the presidential election.

24% of Emmanuel Macron voters support the blockades

One in four voters for Emmanuel Macron in the first round now supports the blockade (24%, +8) of the aforementioned sectors.

Although anger is the word that best describes the state of mind of the French at 49.3, 68% of the French still say they are opposed to the pension reform. Almost the same number (67%) want the mobilization to continue.

actions against pension reform and the use of 49.3 by the government of Elisabeth Borne continue this Monday throughout the country, while the deputies will examine the motions of censure from 4:00 p.m.

Roadblocks will take place in particular in Rennes, while strike notices are still in force in many sectors. On the transportation side, the SNCF, for example, forecasts similar traffic on Monday to that of this weekend with four out of five TGV and two thirds of TER maintained, while the renewable strike against the pension reform will enter its 14th day.
