“This reflects a real drift.” After his Nice office was vandalized overnight from Saturday to Sunday, Eric Ciotti, head of the Republicans and MP for the Alpes-Maritimes, criticized these acts on BFM Nice Côte d’Azur.
“What is unbearable is putting pressure on elected officials to vote,” lamented the parliamentarian at BFM Nice Côte d’Azur this morning. I only hold accountable to those who trusted and certainly not to the far left. I hear the anger of the French. people. It is the result of government mistakes. I will not give in to any threat, to any pressure.”
“The extreme left” targeted
The former Republican candidate for the primaries also pointed to a situation of violence resulting from heated debates on the benches of the National Assembly.
“It reflects a true drift that we live in the chamber of the National Assembly, with the verbal violence and the excesses of the Insoumis. And that violence today spreads on the streets and in demonstrations, ”he explained.
“I observe that we demonstrated in front of my office the day before and the day after, with CGT flags with flags of the extreme left.”
“Very few” LR deputies will vote on motions of no confidence
Although the two motions of censure presented by the Liot group and the Nupes as well as the one by Agrupación Nacional will be voted on Monday, the leader of the Republicans indicated that “very few” LR deputies will vote for them.
And to add: “To vote for Mrs. Le Pen or for Mr. Mélenchon, is to wish tomorrow that Mr. Mélenchon will be Prime Minister, that Mrs. Le Pen will be Minister of Finance, Mr. Boyard Minister of Universities. All that is ridiculous. (…) What a baroque hook, grotesque, even clownish”.
