Bruno Le Maire spoke on BFMTV / RMC a few hours before the vote on two motions of no confidence in the National Assembly, the government having chosen not to submit the reform to the vote of the deputies. Now that the economy is doing better, it is time to restore the balance of the accounts, justified the Minister of Economy to defend the pension reform.
He adds that a new “financial era” has begun.
A “vital” reform
Despite the seven billion euros of “social support measures”, “I guarantee that in 2030 the pension system will be in financial equilibrium”, the minister assured, however.
The budget of seven billion allocated to support measures is “generous” and “necessary”, insisted Bruno Le Maire.
For the minister, the pension reform, announced by Emmanuel Macron but very unpopular among the French and strongly contested on the street and by all the unions, is “the cornerstone of the economic transformation of France”.
