The TotalEnergies group announced on Tuesday the reinforcement of its short-term objectives for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions linked to oil derivatives, while its participation in its activities decreases in favor of gas and renewable energies.
TotalEnergies “has set a more ambitious goal to reduce scope 3 oil emissions”, that is, the emissions generated by fuels and kerosene burned by its customers, with a 30% reduction expected in 2025 compared to 2015 These emissions now represent the largest part of the group’s carbon footprint, followed by those related to gas.
