Nuclear power relaunch: National Assembly votes on bill, without security reform

The text supported by the Republicans, the National Group and the Communists was approved at first reading by a large majority.

With the support of LR, RN and communists, the National Assembly broadly approved in first reading on Tuesday the nuclear reactivation bill, amputated from the controversial security reform.

This text, supported by 402 votes against 130, must now continue its parliamentary course. During the debates, the deputies questioned the security reform project desired by the government: a possible disappearance of the Institute dedicated to expertise (IRSN), which the executive wants to merge with the Nuclear Security Authority (ASN), the plant police .
