Emmanuel Macron estimated this Wednesday that his highly disputed pension reform should “enter into force at the end of the year” because it is “necessary”, during a television interview on TF1 and France2 amid social anger.
“This reform is necessary, I don’t like it, I would have liked not to do it, but that’s also why I promised to do it,” declared the head of state, wishing it would come into effect by the end of the year “so that things go well on your site”, and specifically that 1.8 million retirees “begin to increase by an average of 600 euros per year” and that “we begin to move the legal age by three more months”.
