Gathered in a general assembly this Tuesday, the 130 agents of the National Furniture and Carpet and Tapestry Factory voted to renew the strike until Thursday inclusive to protest against the pension reform. According to the CGT Cultura press release, they could also boycott the reception of King Carlos III, whose arrival in Paris is scheduled for Sunday.
“We are fully aware that at the end of the week the King of England will be received in France and that our services will be requested. We say: it has nothing to do with protocol, it will be without us! We stand in solidarity with the English workers, in particular of culture (British Museum, Wallace collection, etc.), who have been on strike for weeks for a salary increase ”, writes the CGT.
“Withdrawal of reform”
At the same time, the union organization claims, among other demands, the “withdrawal of the reform” of pensions and denounces the use of 49.3 by a government that “has lost all legitimacy in the eyes of the population.”
Thus, he asks his administration “to let the Ministry of Culture know that any request for furniture would be immediately considered by the agents as a provocation and a questioning of the legitimate strike for which we voted.”
