Fuels: the supply of Ile-de-France has been restarted

The supply of fuel to the Paris basin by the large TotalEnergies refinery in Gonfreville-L’Orcher resumed on Friday after a police intervention.

Fuel supply to the Paris basin by the large TotalEnergies refinery at Gonfreville-L’Orcher in Normandy resumed on Friday after a police intervention, Energy Transition Minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher said.

“Pumping has been restarted” and “this makes it possible to supply Ile-de-France”, declared the minister, questioned by RMC about the intervention of the police overnight to unblock the Gonfreville L’Orcher refinery in Normandy and allow required employees to take your service.

Five out of six refineries closed

According to Eric Sellini, national coordinator of CGT Chimie, “shipments will only resume, very partially and if they are successful, and in a single product, kerosene because the Paris airports are dry.” The energy sector -gas, oil, electricity- has remained particularly mobilized since January 19 against the government’s pension reform.

For its part, the Government has “three to four months” of stocks “to deal with any type of crisis” and in which the Government has been pulling since the beginning of March, recalled Ms. Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

The TotalEnergies refinery, the largest in France, supplies a “very powerful” oil pipeline, the minister stressed. “It is important that it can work. The best way to supply the intermediate stocks that later allow the service stations to be supplied is to push the fuel through these pipelines,” he added.
