A proposal by the team to lead the CGT, headed by Marie Buisson, was rejected overnight from Thursday to Friday by the Confederal National Committee, the union’s “parliament”, AFP learned from concordant sources.
The Confederal Executive Commission that made this proposal began meeting around 11:00 p.m., after members of Congress validated its composition.
Marie Buisson, the candidate designated by the outgoing leadership to replace Philippe Martínez, proposed a management team, but the Confederal National Committee that must validate it rejected it.
Therefore, the members of the Confederal Executive Commission have thought of another team, this time around Céline Verzeletti, without being able, early Friday morning, to reach an agreement.
The Congress program normally provides for the proclamation of the results before the Congress delegates at 10:00 am.
