The French Association of Banks (AFB) and all unions representing the banking sector have agreed to a 3% increase in minimum wages at the branch, the social partners announced on Tuesday.
“This agreement increases the 55 minimum wages of the classification by 3%, with a floor at 800 euros,” the AFB said in a statement.
Minimum wages at 8.9% above the minimum wage
In August, the social partners had agreed to revalue the minimum wage up to 5% above the minimum wage with “an update clause” in the event of a revaluation of the minimum wage.
This increase of 5.58% refers to “the first 13 levels”, said in a press release the inter-union, made up of the SNB, the CFDT, the CGT, FO and the CFTC.
“The inter-union demands were higher and justified by the economic context and the excellent results of commercial banks,” however, the organizations specified.
“But, in an inflationary situation that continues and after three years without an increase, in the absence of consensus, the unions did not want to sanction the workers,” the text adds. The agreement signed by the social partners entered into force on 1 April.
