Companies have never hired so many executives. This is the conclusion of the results of the recruitment of Apec, the association for the employment of executives.
And it’s not over. The 300,000 hiring threshold should be exceeded again this year, according to the association. With some 500 more contracts than in 2022, despite inflation and tensions over raw materials.
Last year, 308,300 executives were hired with a fixed-term or indefinite contract for one year, an increase of 15% in one year, the association indicates. Therefore, it is a record level.
This dynamic is stronger than during the pre-Covid period. In 2019, just over 280,000 executives were hired.
Geographical and sectoral disparities
In detail, these results hide disparities between sectors: IT, research and development, banking and insurance do better than industry, commerce and construction. Apec explains that the sectors with high added value are the ones that stand out.
The evolution of the number of executive hires also varies by geography! The southern regions and Ile de France are breaking new records while the others are stalling, according to the survey of 8,000 private companies.
