The meeting between the intersindicale and the Prime Minister ended in failure. They all remained in their positions. Cyril Chabanier, head of the CFTC, spoke on behalf of the intersindicale at the end of the meeting in Matignon, addressing the French:
In turn, the representatives of the eight trade union organizations that make up the intersyndicale have called on the French to join the mobilization of tomorrow.
For Laurent Berger (CFDT), the “social crisis is turning into a democratic crisis”.
“We feel a cold anger”
The same tone for Sophie Binet (CGT) who believes that with this “end of inadmissibility”, the Prime Minister “chose to send us back to the streets”. She urges “workers” to strike “to join the demonstrations across the country.”
Frédéric Souillot (FO general secretary) warns that the inter-union is “more determined than ever” and also calls for “a strong mobilization in the streets tomorrow and through strikes”.
On behalf of the inter-union, Cyril Chabanier once again demands “the pure and simple withdrawal” of the reform. “We repeat to the prime minister that there can be no other democratic result than the withdrawal of the text,” he said.
