Japan will lift its entry restrictions for tourists put in place more than two years ago to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, Digital Minister Taro Kono announced on Twitter on Thursday.
Japan had closed its borders in 2020 during the Covid-19 crisis. 30 months later, tourists once again have total freedom to enter the territory.
The country had begun a gradual reopening in 2022 with visas for workers and students in March, tourists who must be accompanied by guides in June or even those who booked in a selection of travel agencies in September.
Therefore, from October 11, it will be possible to freely enter and travel in Japan as before the pandemic.
